Defender 90 cubby box

As I'm too tight to spend £50 on a 'standard' cubby box which I don't think is really an ideal size for a 90, has anyone on here ever managed to find one off a different vehicle that fits OK or better, or managed to make a more usable version from scratch?

I made one from scratch on my lightweight. Used MDF, had a hinged lid and also a back panel for maps etc. Covered it with l/r green paint and it was very functional. Paid money for the last one though. If you're any good at DIY, its fairly easy to do, but if you have to buy all the wood and fittings, it might work out cheaper to buy one
