MIL light intermitently flashes

Is there a way of finding out why the MIL light occasionally flashes on for less than a second? I made a diagnostic cable for the ECU but there doesn't seem to be any way to check fault logs, only current settings and live outputs.
As a side note, when looking at the live ECU values the throttles at (cold) idle were LHS 15% & RHS 23% with injector timings similarly out. Is that normal? WOT also only goes to 89.9% on both sides. Does this need recalibrating?
