I have just bought another lot of oil, 0W-40, but, to my horror, I have just discovered that the stuff I was topping up with before that is 15W-50 (albeit a very small amount)
The car's running OK, but are there any 'technicians' out there who can put my mind at rest.
One last question, if I needed to totally change the oil, is it just a case of unscrewing the sump plug, draining the oil, and filling the sump back up?

Now Chris, im not a 'TVR' mechanic and have no experience with them apart from i test drove a t350t once and now i cant stop thinking about them. However, your oil question:
If you were just topping up the oil you should be absolutely fine. I presume no more than 1/2 a litre?
The fact that both oils were synthetic is the key as mineral base and syn dont mix.
To drain the oil it is just a matter of undoing the sump plug and draining it. Also remove the filter and fit a new one. To fill up you must fill the filter ( before fitting
) then top up engine, through rocker cover filler until max mark is reached on dip stick. run up engine and re check oil level. It may need a drop more.

I , (and every other owner on here I suspect) love the Tam, no running probs (only self inflicted ones! lol), handles/sounds, accelerates great, and, TBH, I wouldn't swap it now for any other car, I can say that hand on heart!
I think you need to have a test drive in each one Topcat, I personally didn't coose a Tuscan because, from all I've read the Tam is more of a drivers car, a proper sportscar, like your excellent Boxster, the Tusc is more of a GT. I didn't want a T350 because I believe if we spend so much on a sportscar, the roof should come off! (although I am sure the T350 is stiffer because of the inherent strengths of a coupe), so, all in all, the Tam is the best compromise, for me at least. Hope that helps

Try the Tam. I am two weeks into ownership (www.tvrblog.com) and its by far one of the best cars I have ever owned! Smiling, if the wind changes direction I will look like the Joker!
