Wonder if anyone can offer any advice, I have been a bit silly.

Got the Jimny very muddy and then went a bit overboard with the jetwash under the bonnet. Engine management light on and symptoms are as follows.

Seems fine when cold, but when fully warmed up seems to misfire and run badly under 3k RPM, seems fine over that and also is ok throughout rev range when cold.

I've disconnected some of the electrical connectors and sprayed WD40 in there, I'm hoping a mate can get it in the diagnostic machine and see what error codes are there but anything I can try in the meantime?

Wet air filter? Could mean your MAF or similar getting weird results and cunfusing the computer.

When it's warming up the fuel injection is probably closed loop and not using sensors such as manifold air pressure etc. SO there is no issue.

Once it is up to temp it will look for these readings, and this is when you get the problem....

I've done a few miles since I jet washed it, I would imagine it's all pretty dry under there now.

Worth taking the MAF lead off and firing some WD40 in there I suppose?

Only takes a few seconds to confirm that, instead of imagining? There could be three inches of water in there!

Yeah - I'd look suspiciously at the MAF and associated wiring... Or just unplug it and see if your symptoms go away? Most injection computers will run on pre-sets if they lose the feed from the MAF.

Good thinking, I'll pop the airbox open to check the filter isn't swimming and have a fiddle with the MAF. Thsnks for the advice!
