hi
was looking at the 42" panny plasma tv, gt30, £850,
next to it was the vt30 for £999

couldnt really see that much difference in picture quality in the shop, but its never ideal

must say the vt did "look" better

basically is it worth the extra £150

I guess only you can answer that. No point paying for something if it looks the same as a cheaper one. You sat it looks better, but is it £150 better to you?

for the sake of argument , lets say you get five years use out of the tv , £150 is not a lot is it?
plus as you already ackknowedge that the vt has a better picture , would you always feel a little sick everytime if you took the cheaper option ?

The VT is the slightly superior panel and has better speakers built in. It is slightly dimmer compared to the GT because of its superior screen filters that can also reduce the viewing angles. It is much more sophisticated in its ability to be calibrated if that's your thing but it's all little steps above the GTs.

Don't forget the VT does include 3D glasses and the wifi dongle(I think). I've recently bought a GT for £799 including 2 pairs of glasses and a Pani 5 year warranty from Sevenoaks AV.

Yep, the glasses, dongle, mini-woofer, darker screen filter, plus no silver trim around the bezel would sway it for me.
