hello to all , Iam thinking of buying a t350 , just selling my griff . Iam torn to which is best I know most of you who have had your cars will be better placed for advice and the fact is I just want to get it right first time . I want to know if its better to get one after 2004 ? and is it true that its not if but when you will need a rebuild ? I am new to the speed six world and just looking for a bit of help ,any advice appreciated

It seems to be generally held that when Smolensky took over in 2004 the materials used to build the Speed Six were improved but thats not to say you can't find excellent examples built before then.

When you will need a rebuild is anyone's guess but for peace of mind you could buy one that's already had a rebuild done.

Post up the car you're thinking of, someone may know the history.

General consensus seems to be to buy the latest car you can afford, and buy on condition not on mileage.

More important than mileage or age is the history. If you can find a car which has been serviced more or less every year by a specialist then this should give you more confidence. T350s do not like to sit around so it's good to find one used regularly. This doesn't mean it has high mileage. Many owners here take their car out say once a week or so but wait for any opportunity of dry weather

No issues and hopefully never. I worked on the basis on understanding the history of the car. Enquiring with specialists who had previously serviced her. The previous owner also tok it on a rolling road session where it pulled 351bhp ( documented). When i drove it, the engine and chassis felt tight compared to another i tested previously. This gave me the confidence to go ahead with the purchase

nice one glad you got a good car , having been a griff owner Iam use to the quirks of that model, but the six is a completely diff car so better to ask now than buy then wished I did a bit more research
DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE GREY ONE JUST GONE ON THE ADVERTS ON HERE ?

I presume you mean fernies?
I bought a late 05 with a str8six 4lt red rose rebuild and must admit i feel like i got some added security which you never really get to see reflected in the cars price! I could not part with the Griff, although i must admit to falling more for the 350 once i got used to the differant engine characteristics and power delivery, good luck with your purchase.:]
