Anyone in our area use council garages for car storage?

I've been on the hunt for a garage for my VX for ages now and not found anything at all. I have had my name down for ages for a council one in the village but they come up very rarely and I'm 4th on the waiting list. If I broaden the area a bit I'm told I can have a garage just down the road but the area is not exactly Beirut but its not fantastic (Normanton) guy from the council assures me that across the district they get no complaints of damage/break ins. Just wondered if anyone had any experience?

I'm looking for a garage to keep a Caterham. I live in Knottingley and know that Wakey council have garages but the idea of one here doesn't fill me full of confidence! I will look a bit more into it and see what I can find, maybe pool the PH resources and find something secure!

I have a council garage which I can just about see from my upstairs window. Never had / heard any issues, just football marks on the door where the kids play wallball against it.
