Dear All

I have returned from my second visit to Austec with my S2 - and now have my fully sorted unichip upgrade in place.
I say second trip as on the first lengthy session we had a few issues.... throttle cable snapped.... throttle pot needed replacing, etc etc and the engine was too coked up to get the best fueling map in place. So i thrashed it through 1000 miles with some magic fuel additives and took it back on Tuesday.

It only took a few runs on the road for Paul to set it up sweetly, so the innards must be clean & shiny now. I can now report how pleased i am with the end result... Thanks very much Mike & Paul.

So she now runs with a smoother tickover, a much improved torque curve with nice increases in the lower rev ranges. A really steady and smooth acceleration from 2000rpm to 6000rpm.
The whole car feels younger & lighter on its feet and i'd recommend it to anyone who wants some real drivability improvements to their V6. Its also made her a fair bit quicker thanks to the peak increases.

She's now giving me 170Hp and 224 lb/ft torque

I'm told that the torque level is catching up with non chipped V8S's and would certainly see off a 350i wedge in the real world..... add in the lighter weight and my new shocks & springs & the package is really driving well.

I'd certainly recommend it to anyone who's in the market, but have a chat first so your expectations are in line.

I'll be at the S Club Heaven2 at Silverstone so feel free to have a chat if you wich (cars red & TVR plate).

Anyway a big thanks to Podie for highlighting the process in the first place and thanks to Paul for his patience and Mike for putting up with my chatter for hours on end

Oddly enough, I was on the phone to Mike on tuesday (I think it was) whilst your car was on the rollers. Sounded fantastic even from the other end of the phone !

Have fun with it,

WG

you haven't seen mine, don't go by photo's it is rarely cleaned. Ups and downs its till in the middle of a down period at present, even Shozz golf cart may out drag it on the strip this weekend, now thats bad .
Admittedly it is sound and more importantly goes like stink, on a good day though and sounds a bit angry on full throttle . You never know it may be up for grabs later in the year, if it doesn't behave itself

Ah then when I left it in safe keeping whilst on Hols, put the roof on I recall . At least the rain would have given it a wash .

Don't go too near Phil or Craig on the weekend...

Next thing you know you will have a Cerb / Nitrous the works...(are you listening Phil..?)

Rather than a classic TVR...

Harry keep with what you believe..

V8S

Sorry Craig...

I'm looking to giving my V6S the Austec treatment at some point but I need to get the injectors and exhaust done first.

I need more money, the VW may have to go!

1999 sporty 145bhp Passat Tdi, Fjord Pearl Blue with Audi TT RS4 18" alloys. Lovely inside and out. Very quick and bags of torque. Probably around £4750. Anyone interested?

Last I heard, Austec had quite a queue building coz Pods had put so much business their way. Wish you lot would stop talking about them - I'd hoped the fuss would have died down so that I could book mine in next month
