Panasonic TH-42PX80BA with problems
Discussion
Hi all,
We have inherited the telly above after a DVD fault and screwdriver interface caused the picture to dissappear.
It has been checked out by a repairers and they quoted £240 to repair the input board, they tested the screen on freeview and it worked fine but none of the inputs work.
£240 is too much but we have seen some boards for around the £50 mark.
Is this TV worth repairing?
Also, is there a reliable source of parts, i'm not a fan of ebay.
Dave!

An update on my tinkering....
I managed to get a new Input board and fitted it today, everything works fine apart from 2 black lines on the screen.
I noticed a light scorch mark near the ribbon connector which connects the input board to what I think is the part which puts the picture on the screen. A used the ribbon from the new input board and it was the same?
New input board....

The section on the far left which connects the input board to I believe the screen, using the ribbon connector....

The picture I get....

So is this a completely dead telly without more expense or is it likely to be a bad connection?
If not it's going to the tip.
