Hi guys, long time lurker. I've (well the missus has) just bought an 95 Eunos for a cheap runabout. We were in a rush to pick it up yesterday so insurance was sorted but with the Eunos model registered as a Gleneagles. Now, I've seen some good guides online and have come to the conclusion it's a V Spec. I would appreciate it if someone more knowledgeable than me could confirm my suspicions?

Thanks guys.

Looks like V-Spec to me. smile

Also, lift the bonnet then gently bend the back of the pop up lights to bring them flush with the bonnet.

Thanks for confirming model. Nice tip on the lights, I thought they looked a bit wrong.;)

Not done mine in a while but I think there are a couple of adjustment screws on the sides that you can slacken off & pull the rear of the light cover up a touch, before you go bending them, which is best for just tiny adjustments, need lights up to get to the screws so will need 'the button' to be pressed a few times.

Thanks iguana. Will give this a go tomorrow. When you say button, do you mean the button on the dash? I've only had this a day.

The first advice was the easiest & best. The lids usually end up like that due to people leaning on them and bending them down. Just bend them back into shape. That way you can make sure they are flush around all 4 sides.

This, you'll never get them lined up properly via the mounting points as they've been bent.

There may be a sticker on the door shut that tells you what model it is. There is on mine.

There certainly is Vlad. Grade V-SP special editionclap
Sorted the lights too. Cheers guys.

Only paid £500 for the car, with a years MOT and no advisories too. Engine seems sound, no nasty noises, sills have had a not so brilliant repair but not bad enough to even come up as an advisory.
Will be getting a new hood fitted at MX5 parts in Pompey next wednesday. So if it is reliable, I shall be looking to get the sills repaired properly.

Thanks again guys.

Just for reference, the hood on mine is tan to match the interior. I'm not sure if your black hood is a replacement for an original tan one, or whether there were multiple options available originally. Just so that you know that you have a colour choice.

I don't know if there were options when new, but I think I will be going with Tan. IMO it looks a bit classier on BRG.

Another BRG V-Special. Nice smile. You keeping it standard or doing any modification/personalisation?

I don't know yet. It's the missus runabout really but the mods seem to be endless on these. Very tempting.
Talking of mods though, does this look lowered? Please say no, because weve already sorted insurance!

Dont ask - you cant be responsible for what you couldnt have reasonably known.

With regards to insurance; you will find that most specialists wont charge you any more for most things which dont actually make the car faster. Mainstream insurers are usually very different though.

Id say that it was an old car which may have sagged a little.

Absolutely.
I'm with Adrian Flux and it cost me nothing for modded suspension, a rollbar and sports exhaust on my policy.

I've had a look at the springs with a torch, they just look old and rusty, no sign of snazzy springs or shocks. I'm by no means an expert at stuff like this though, I suppose they could have just sagged. Mmmm, what to do?

I think they were lowered from the factory.

Certainly looks much lower than mines at the front, but as said above - if you can't tell it's been lowered then the insurance probably won't be able to tell either.

Nice car. thumbup

A little update on this. Bought a roof including the frame for £100 off of ebay and fitted it myself. Not tan like I wanted but I thought it was a good price for an as new hood.
I took it to mx5 parts to buy the radio cubby and the fella in the shop had a little look over and under the car and informed me that it had KYB 8 way adjustable shocks, and the springs were non standard, which is nice. The bad news is, my guilty conscience got the better of me and I've informed the insurers of the modifications. The good news is, it cost me £0 for the pleasure, I really thought they were going to sting us. At least we can enjoy the car now without the worry of voiding insurance.
Only problem we've got now is planning our journeys so they don't involve speed humps or multistorey car parks. biglaugh
