Jaguar XJR X350 questions

Hi

Have been considering selling the e39 530i and purchasing a Jaguar XJR (x350)
the insurance on them is dirt cheap i am getting quotes of £1100 (£800 for a 530i £3800 for a 400bhp e39 m5!)
Was just wondering what to watch out for, are they reliable ect?

Also i am aware they are all auto's what is the box like? Can you also shift manually with it (eg switchtronic?)
