Is it in the near side or off side bank?

From the other features on the block is that cylinder 1 thats been munched?

Thanks for the confirmation. Nice to know that it is therefore very unlikely that I caused this when removing the air box above the clutch fluid reservoir. I had assumed that I had somehow left a washer inside it or a nut had come off and that had got sucked into the engine and caused the damage.

bud you must have bent valves or they must also be marked up?.

More of a problem is that cylinder 1 and 4 should be the same distance down from the top, and it doesn't look like that from here frown.

Yeah, needed new liner, piston, valves, head welding and new valve seats. Its all fixed now, just investigating a couple of oil leaks one of which seems to be originating from the NS bank which is what prompted the original question.

I think all ajp's leak from just about anywhere biggrin,is it a major one or just a drip,my undercarriage looks like a cobblers thumb.......and it aint nice wink...stops it rusting,well kind of

No its not a major one but it is a bit more than the odd drip. The crank pulley seal is leaking too but again not a major leak. The oil pressure is a little eratic when warm as well (along with idle speed) so I'm wondering about the oil pressure relief spring / valve. Might need to look at the throttle settings too...

4.5 with standard purple hoses? You certainly could have. RH airbox feeds the LH bank due to pipe cross over.

Unless you have short induction or 4.2 intakes.
