Ok tell us about the overpriced cars you see for sale when you are out and about.

In Bolsover a dealer has an L reg 405, 7 months M.O.T, no tax, crusty in all the usual places.

He is asking £795, so what have you seen?

I think maybe you're missing the point of the thread.
My apologies - the point does stand though!

Well, under the scrappage scheme, that would be a £2k car, so £795 is cheap, really.

OK, it's not rubbish, but it's overpriced.

A dealer in Derby wants 1800 for a Mk2 MR2, its a 1996, claims to be a 10th anni.
its a cat D, probably a front on impact, has the wrong bumper, ripped arch linings, bonnet misaligned and catch misaligned, drivers seat is beyond repair, doesnt have the anni wheel. only has one anni badge, bodywork needs a respray, and electronics need some work.

1800? drop the 1, and i may be interested as a parts car for breaking.

Dealer I pass on the ride to work, everything is silly money. 54 plate MINI One = £5995 apparently. Who pays these prices?

Is the annoyingly named "Scrappage" scheme still running then? I thought that stopped ages ago?

Landy folk dont refer to them as Nene Overpriced for nothing...

to be fair, the stuff isnt that crusty, its usually pretty good - they just charge a fortune for it!!!!

If it is a turbodiesel with a Bosch fuel pump then it is probably a decent price for something that can drive on potentially free fuel (used vegetable oil) !

Not if they're all being bought on credit it isn't. I suppose it's marginally better than people spunking loans on foreign st, but anything that increases the national personal debt is bad.
