Hopefully he will pick this up.

I've got a problem with my 535d where Im not getting any small turbo boost. I've been googling the problem and read a thread from a few years ago and you seemed to have the same problem as me.

You mentioned that it was a chafed pipe under the airbox somewhere and this cured it, but what I wanted to know was how did the problem present itself the first time it happened. Was it intermittent? Did it get worse over time? How badly chafed was the pipe when you found it?

Sorry to post on the M forum but don't know how to do the one to one messages.

I bloody knew I should of bought an M first time round!

It just started one day with no warning. No error codes either. If you remove the acoustic cover from the top of the engine (4 or 5 torx bolts) you can see the vacuum lines to the "mixing" valve and waste gates.

Cheers for the reply mate

So it was one of the vacuum lines that had split? Did the problem occur one day and diss appear? Was it intermittent at all?

No, came without warning and didn't stop until the line was replaced. I think it was 13 at http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E61/Touring/Euro...
