I *really* like the look of these. I do have a thing for french saloons (I know, I know,). My ultimate would be a 607. Or a C6.
Anyway. Back to the 407. Are they good? I've had a 406 before and it was fine. I know a lass with a 307 that has been a disaster (HGF, rubber perishing, leaks (oil and windscreen washer), disintegrating carpet etc... (07 reg)). Is the 407 any better?
I know Ill regret it. Probably. But they're very pretty.

I like the Coupe model but the saloon looks quite drab.
I've had 3 Peugeots in the past. Last was a 307 estate, 1.6 HDI 2004 model that was a big shoddy in terms of build quality.
However, my Dad had a 2.0 HDI 2002 model that he sold to my Auntie at 90k and it's still going strong at 160k.
Also had a 2003 206 2.0 HDI and was fine, only kept it 12 months/22k; but i had a 1.1 106 Zest 2, W reg prior to that that i sold at 78k no problems, and i know the lad who i sold it to had it to 114k.
As for the 407 - not sure - but engines are probably similar to the 307 in terms of build etc.
Know what you mean though, would love a C6 and the new 5008 saloon looks great!!

This is the one I'm looking at : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2004-PEUGEOT-407-SE-MARO...
I love the colour. Looks like it could use a bit of cleaning though.
Oh and absolutely agree on the new 5008. Nom nom nom.
Had one on short term hire for 4 months. Was not impressed.
Reasons included:
1. It's first attempt at turning up was a 307 (driver was a tad pissed off too!)
2. It broke down twice with the same fault at a young age. Usual s
t French dealer service.
3. It just did not quite have the 'feel'.
4. For a diesel it's thirst was distinctly average. Might have improved with more miles.
5. Did not feel as well built as 406, nor as comfortable.
