Special Temp Insurance

I am buying a car in the UK to drive to Germany and am having a ridiculously hard time getting temp insurance to cover it. It will be on UK plates and I have a German license and address.

Does anyone know of a possible company that would provide the insurance for a few days? Perhaps some type of export insurance? once i am in Germany it is no problem...

Might you have better luck getting insurance with a German provider?

I had the same thought, but being on a recent license with a UK car, the insurance options in Germany are limited. My selected company will only insure the car once it is registered in Germany, not on foreign plates...
