I've currently removed all of the front suspension on my '96 500 and am in the process of upgrading ball joints, bushes etc. I would also like to change the bushes on my front anti roll bar and I've been scratching my head as to how to remove the bolts.
Anyone who has attempted this will know that there is very little access especially on the lower bolts. Is there an easy way around it that I can't see? I guess a 17mm socket with flats on it would work (so that I could attach a wrench) but I'm struggling to find such a thing on the internet. Or possibly a ring spanner with a particular offset?

Cheers, David

SSPPGG: That would be the answer - but rad removal on a Griffith is not for the faint hearted and I'm not in your league of spannering. Does anyone know of an easier alternative?

On a chim you can get a 17mm on without an extension.

during my rebuild, i forgot to reattach the earth to the lower ARB bolt.

i put it on the top bolt, but the cable was a bit tight.

the "anal one" in me won, and i removed the rad again, just to swap the earth lead to the correct bolt......

how sad am I?....couldnt leave it attached to the wrong bolt,

you can un-do the rad and move it up... keep the pipes on etc... just take it off the bobins and push it up... you can just about get enough room to get a spanner in... and the bolt out.

If you intend to take the roll bar out to re-paint or something... make sure you have enough side room... as it takes a bit of working out.... smile

We'll, at least that's better than rad removal. As you can tell, I was hoping for an easy solution but judging from the replies so far it doesn't look like there is one. David.
