Apologies in advance for another dumb-ass post by me, but...

How do I go about removing the wheel nut covers on my stndard 7-spoke wheels?

They are held in place by what I gather from other posts is the standard double slotted bolt. Is there a special key for undoing these? If so, where can I get one? I don't what to risk knackering them with my big screwdriver!!!

Yes there is such a key and it should be in your tool bag, along with the jack and wheel brace.

I have had a tyre changed without the key, and I believe they did it with a large screwdriver.

In the boot. Should have got your car with a spare wheel (in a bag) a bag for the roof panel and a bag with the jack, brace, cover removal key and maybe a spare nut cover (was in mine).

This was the only thing missing from Wol. A large, flat-blade screwdriver will undo them, while you're at it, get a set of the Leven ones to replace them, they look better, and you get a key to undo them with.
