I need new discs and pads all round on my MX5, been quoted around £200 for standard oem brakes and £500ish for Tarox branded stuff.
Then on top of either £150 to fit it all, bleed the brakes, etc etc.
Would you go with the Tarox branded stuff or stick with the oem? I occasionally do track days (1 a year) and do some fairly fast 5am road driving during the summer.

As above, stick with stock pads. Match them with plain discs - I use MX5 Parts discs rather than genuine Mazda.
Prices from MX5 Parts:
Front pads + discs = £59.34 + £46.51
Rear pads + discs = £48.14 + £35.23
Total = £189.22
Add less than £10 for DOT4.1 fluid so it should all come to under £200 for the parts.
It takes me about an hour to do front pads & discs and about the same again to do the rears. It's an easy DIY job as long as you have the tools, follow the simple instructions and nothing is seized.
