Hi Can anyone tell me if my oil dipstick is correct. The threaded end bit can screw up into the stick, and hence make it shorter or longer and as you can see there is a max mark but no min level mark. The oil comes up to about 1/2" below the max level, so I have put a small amount in, but the fact that the threaded piece is adjustable is a bit of a concern.
Thanks

I've always thought mine was one piece. Could be wrong though. Will have a look next time

Haven't seen one like that the threaded bit is normally flat. But you can keep it topped up to the max level and slightly above as it is a dry sumped engine.

i have had the car since October, and it has been good with oil. Never had the need to top up, but just a bit concerned now that the threaded bit could work its way out whilst fitted.

My dipstick is exactly the same as yours, mine has been modified I believe because the original broke off the alloy oil cap. I always keep it just below max and check it all the time! Mr C

That is the same as mine, if you worry about the oil level put a bit to much rather than less, it only sort of works as a storage tank so a bit to much oil won't hurt the engine.

Here's mine, if you need a dimension check...

Thanks for that everyone, I will modify my stick to your dimensions, fix it with a lock nut and mark my own min level. Then stick to the max level as a guide.
