thoughts on how to make your car appear a pita to pinch if on the drive? currently the car is blocked in by the family barge and dont think i want a tracker because i dont want the car bag after its been ragged by a pleb

wondering whether the combination of family barge blockage, wheel clamp and steering wheel disc type lock may deter the professional steal to order pleb?

clearly taking one of the wheels off will also help but this car needs to be used each morning

Biggest problem with any car security measures is that if the scum really want your car, they will break into the house (and in extreme cases) drag you out of bed in the middle of the night for the car keys.

What about a retractable post, something like this: http://www.autopa.co.uk/retractapost-square

It wouldn't be too much hassle to put it down before you get into the car each morning...

If professional car theives really want your car then then it'll probably be gone regardless of being blocked in, disklok, wheel clamps etc.

This doesn't work, mine got stolen.

This seems to have worked so far though.

I agree, but 'professional thieves' are as rare as rocking horse sh*t, in my experience.

you're joking? watch those "Police Camera Stop Thief Action Video" shows, every week it's a stolen Vectra being ragged through some sink estate in Grimtown, Yorkshire

I always thought 'snap off' wheels were cool. Airbags might be a problem though.

drive twice a day, in bad weather, across a steelworks, past an Ore Prep Plant and a sinter plant.

It'll look like this:

And no-one will go near it.

some interesting suggestions... whilst the ones involving excrement may be the most effective its unlikely that im going to jump in joy (but rather poo) at the prospect of opening the door to drive it each morning...

even some of the more reputed clamps appear to be easily defeated either by drilling the lock barrels with hard bits or by letting air out of tyres and using brute force
