I have a broken wire somewhere between the door ecu and the driver side window motor. I assume it is between door and body. Now I wonder if that silver thing on the picture is a plug or not? And how if all goes wrong can I remove the door???

Thanks in advance

Hi yep, it is the interconnecting plug. A quick turn on the ring and then it should pull out.

Maybe a stupid question but have you checked the smaller connectors inside the door? I had one where the wire had corroded away inside so looked ok until you pulled the wire and it came out.

Hello Basil

sure i checked the plugs inside the door. Measured the resistance on the wires between the plugs and the door ecu. Thats how i found the source of the prob. Still not sure which wire is the bad one or if it is the connection between plug and car body. But I am closing in to the source of the trouble ;-)

Finally found the bugger!!!
One pin of the plug had no connection. Had to clean it and opened the gap of the pin a little and all is well again!. Had to find a few extra bends in my arms and hands. Collected a few scratches while fiddling inside the door, but now all is back together again and working.
Thanks to you that helped me with that!
