Rig shot on a motorbike?

I'd like to try some rig shots from a moving motorbike, I understand that most rig shots are longish exposures while the car is being pushed but this may cause issues with falling over.
My current plan is to attach the tripod horizontally to the rear rack with the camera roughly 2' out facing forward with my 7d and 10-20 fitted then use the cable release to fire off a few shots.
For balance I'll need to be doing around 10 mph.
So (apart from the possibility of the camera falling off and scattering) does this sound like the way to go about it? I'd like to try with the camera quite close to the ground but that'll come later!
As the engine will be running is vibration likely to be a big problem?
My thinking is that if I'm moving faster then I can use a relitively short exposure to minimise the effects of vibration.
