Oh yes. That passed me by completely. I really like that.
In fact, running one through the configurator, I managed to get an on-the-road price of £140K. Erk..!!
Having seen one in the flesh at TG Live I can confirm it really is something special indeed and stands head and shoulders above the likes of the X-Bow etc as a piece of design and engineering. Check out the autocar video review on Youtube for their opinion on driving it... In fact, running one through the configurator, I managed to get an on-the-road price of £140K. Erk..!!

You must have put one hell of a spec on there though, you've managed to pretty much double the starting price

Standard PH answer to the 'poor TG test'
- It isn't a car show fronted by three journalists, it is an entertainment show featuring 3 characters - Jezza, Hamster and Captain Slow.
Every second is about as real as Jordan's chest - and I think there would be a lot less kurfuffle over the show when people appreciate that.

I didn't - honest..!! I did add some additional items but once they added VAT onto the prices at the end, it came out at £104K.
I didn't have the customer helmet, second set of wheels/tyres but I did have some of the items you'd want for using it on the road. There was a lot more I could have selected.
People approach Top Gear as if it is a factual program asking questions like - what did they hope to prove by driving a Crossbow in the rain?
The answer is...nothing. It was designed to achieve a laugh. Tenner says they even waited for a wet day to film it.
People get incredibly offended by top gear...why? Its a scripted show, and the presenters are characatures of themselves. - It just confuses me how people continue to take the show seriously.

I think the issue is that it mixes ridiculous and heavily scripted sections with actual "judgements" on the merits of certain products. It is so popular that certain "sweeping statements" made by JC especially can cause real problems for some companies/products whether they are accurate or not.The answer is...nothing. It does make me cringe sometimes hwen he makes a factually incorrect statement just for "effect"...

Along the lines of May saying "Caterham! Windscreen! Heater!" both of which are options available on the car as well he knows (and the screen can be switchable with the aeroscreen). It riles me but it's not worth getting worked up about. It does make me cringe sometimes hwen he makes a factually incorrect statement just for "effect"...

I can't see what's odd about driving a trackday car in the rain. You've got to drive it to the track and back again whether it's raining or not in this country.
Or trailer it.Or if it's the Caterham, fit the windscreen and roof for the drive there, remove them and fit the aeroscreen for the track and depending how wet you get, either refit afterwards or not for the drive home.
