The ship I work on is currently operating off the coast of Brazil. The following images were taken from our Helideck approx 25-30 ft above the water, Camera is a Nikon D5000 with a 55-300 zoom and a circular polarising filter was used.
Apart from cropping and the odd wee tweak of contrast that is how they came out.
There was a lot got binned as the refraction could be a bit much at times, but if the fish were within a metre or so of the surface on the lee side of the ship it was pretty smooth.
As there is nothing to judge scale ,the biggest of the file fish were 10-12 inches, the Needle fish 4-5 feet and the Dorado were 4-6 feet
