Picked up my Cerb yesterday.... but ....

Hi all, finally picked up my lovely 4.5 lightweight yesterday and found out what that Tvr grin is all about.
but ...... also got my first taste of ownership... 1 mile down the road i get a MIL light flash ! after viewing the car and test driving on 2 seperate occasions with no issues the day i buy it and drive home she starts playing up
soon goes out again though and try to relax and enjoy the drive, till we hit traffic in Melton Mowbray. Eyes costantly checking gauges i watch as the temp quickly increases.... the beads of sweat and dispair start to form as the ever increasing temp gets close to 110 we pull over to check the fans are kicking in but all is quiet and realise straight away we have a problem. Quick phone call to James and he is on his way over and there in 10 mins. We carefully nip to a garage and remove scuttle panel, clean up temp sensor and start her up again to grin when the first fan kicks in at around 95 and second fan shortly after dropping the temp back quickly 
so we put her back together and head home.
All in all not the perfect drive back from buying my first Cerbera but all part of the commitment to owning a Tvr
went out for a drive again last night and we started to bond again, the grin coming back on my face with the pops and bangs through town.
Going to take me a while to relax with her again i'm sure, but are you ever truly relaxed driving one of these cars ?
Lots of jobs to do and things to sort on her to get this 3 headed dog the way i want her but for now i'm one happy chap

Yellow interior is a love or hate thing but the full leather hide smells amazing and with the Black paintwork makes a stunning combination IMO

Cerbs have a habit of getting the ump when they swap owners mine wouldn't lock her bonnet the next day and i ended up upside down in her footwell twiddling with her knob but that said they usually settle down eventually.
Never relax always keep your eye on all three heads at once because once you forget and relax one of the heads will bite you in the ass!!

When I picked mine up I didn't even get 10 miles before hitting traffic and she started giving me trouble. I had to pull off the M25 and 1/2 mile down the road into a pub car park. Luckily my dad was following in his LandRover and had plenty of tools on board. Got her home and 2 new Lambda sensors later she was running like a dream.
As others have said they don't like changing owners but soon settle down.

Yep the underlay on the wall was for my civic I use as every day drive, it's not even in the right place now for Cerb ! Was pretty amazed how small she looks in the garage Nice looking car.
makes the civic look like a bus in comparison Cheers for comments I know it's a beast you always drive with your eyes open and butt clenched ! Just need to clock up some miles without any major problems ......... Will be spending many hours over the coming months getting to know where everything is.
Plenty time to get her prepped ready for LeMans run this year

Oh mine did same thing....day 2 of ownership....M25...(yeah bad idea) 11 mile tailback in roadworks and a breakdown....the Cerb isn't happy and blows a coil pack...."Hmmm, listen newbie....I like A roads and B roads only, the M25 sucks" (she appears to say)
First lesson to newbie owner, "Don't take me on the bloody M25 you idiot!", 2nd lesson, figure out what a spanner does.

sounds like we all learn very quickly ! Yep had great weekend with her and clocked up some miles after sorting couple problems this morning ( exhaust knocking under car when cornering ) but really enjoying getting to know her.
Yep looking forward to meeting you all at a get together soon
