Raced at Hog Hill today off of the back of the winter series at Hillingdon. Mega little track and perfect for training if you aren't lucky enough to be heading off to Spain etc...

I got dropped on the climb (as expected) but my flat speed is good so its a positive place to work on things. I cant beleive that two guys crashed in front of me on lap two though, very weak handling skills. Compared to Hillingdon the pack is very easy to deal with and there are far fewer muppets.

Get yourself over there!

Hope to be racing there on the 8th of April, maybe just maybe the 1st as well.

Custom circuit that looks wider than Hillingdon - is it ?

Also always nice to have a hill in a circuit race to even things out between different types of riders

Going to try and do mostly road races this summer but want to try hog hill and Kent Cyclopark at least a couple of times.

First RR tomorrow, exciting!

50 miles mostly flat sounds up your street, don't go mental in the first hour the hurting time will be somewhere in the second hour, patience on a longer road race often bears fruit.

Yeh.

I have been training hard so hopefully fitness wise I'll be fine. Been riding comfortably with a lot of the 2nd cats so bodes well. The 2/3 is much more hilly though. Will be a tough day to even stay in the bunch I think.

Its wider than Hillingdon, space to move and more lines which is nice. I was surprosed at how easy it was to take people om the downhill turns and hairpin, I grounded once but I was taking the mick. The whole thing was more laid back, Hiliingdon is quite angry. For me the pace was quite hot as it was a 3/4 but I would much rather be fighting to stay on than leading from the front. I am going for a Cat 4 only next weekend which should be fun.

The 1/2 race was impressive. I was staggered at the speed they carried up the climb. Thats the thing about cycling isn't it, you get yourself into a level then see what the next one is all about and wonder how you will ever compete.

Written an entry here, only just got back as I had to Marshall the 2/3 race straight after! But I came 9th, pleased with it considering.
