Vinyl Wrapping - Talk to me
Discussion
Ok guys/gals, I'm seriously thinking of wrapping the full car.
Long story short, but the 996 has a few blemishes on the paintwork, I really fancy a bodykit on the front end (new front bumper and wings) which would be in fibreglass, and I know that would be extremely difficult to match paintwork into the existing silver.
In view of this, would you say a vinyl wrap is a good idea? Nothing stupid coloured, but maybe a nice white? Has anyone any experience of getting this done professionally and the longevity of the product?
Thanks in advance!

Generally speaking if you can paint it, you can wrap it.
As for a wrap on a 996 (with fibreglass bumpers/skirts?), I don't see any problem at all ! Wrap is guaranteed for x years (some is 2 years, some is 5, some is more), and as long as it's removed professionally, your paint will be exactly as it was when the wrap was applied.
I'm just setting up a wrapping company in Kent, so am not much use to you, but can speak to my supplier to see if they can recomaned a company up your way ?

If you want to return it to original to sell at some point, it's probably a good way to go, and it will also protect the paint - make sure that any chips that are down to the metal are sorted first though, water getting underneath is a bit of a nightmare, as I have found out when I pulled the vinyl roof, and half of the roof itself, off my Dolly Sprint.
