Registering Ultima Can-Am in Aus
Discussion
Extras needed:
Steering lock
Centre brake light
Charcoal Canister
ADR compliant seat belts
Reduce the exhaust noise
Canam will be a bit harder cause I don't think anyone over here has done a torsion rigidity test on one yet. So you will be up for the cost of that which is about $1500-$2000. Then allow around $6000-$8000 for engineering if the engineer you use hasn't done one yet.

Hi to other Aus Ultima owners / builders.
I just finished having mine registered in Perth.
It's amazing how the rules vary from state to state.
I worked in closely with Alan May who has built a GTR in NSW.He is a great source of info if anyone wants his number..
I thought I would have far greater problems getting registration in WA compared to NSW, but not the case..
Biggest issue over here was the torsional rigidity. Our rules require 6000Nm / degree whereas NSW only require (or at least insist on) 4000Nm.
I added a cross brace to the engine bay and passed easily.
Personally, I would be very concerned about a can-am getting through this test.
IMHO ( H being "humble" ) you wouldn't get one registered in WA without extensive modification...
Also as a side note, I didn't need a steering lock, charcoal cannister or ADR compliant seat belts.
I now have a spare exhaust system that will get you down to 95Db if anyone requires it..
Excellent "gameova" plate
Cheers
Adam
