Bike for a 5 year old.

Morning,

I`ve just been out with my lad and he is now too big for his bike.

He`s presently got an Islabike CNOC 14 which has been great (his sister will have it once she`s big enough) but the CNOC is now far too small.

I don`t think there`s much point in tyring to find a CNOC 16 as he`s growing so quickly he`ll be out of that in a few months. However some of the bikes the next size up look far too big for him at the moment.

Any ideas?

My lad is tall and we got 2 years on a Cnoc 16 before he went up to the bienn 20.

(He now rides a 24" wheel bike at 7 years old)

Cheers for that, can you remember roughly how tall he was when he went from the CNOC 16 to the Bienn 20?

Not sure about height but he went over to the Bienn 20 small. i think he had just turned 5. The issue was the gears when we changed over took him a couple of months to figure it out!!

He had the cnoc 16 as his first bike!!!

Specialized hotrock ? either the 20 inch or the 24 inch wheel version ? My son also had a Kona makena. Just sold my sons hotrock bike that I bought s/h a couple of years ago for £140. Sold it for £110 within 24 hours of advertising it ! £30 for two years biking. Same with the Kona.

The important bit being they are all light, well put together and hold their value.

My daughters had a CNOC16 and then moved to a Beinn20 for her sixth birthday, but to be fair, the CNOC16 was too small for a couple of months prior to that, so if your son is of average height (i.e as tall as my daughter) then I'm sure a Beinn20 will be fine.
