Discussion
Want to get my badges redone at Leven and as they are having problems sourcing badges prior to exchange the quick way is to send your badges to them first. They will refurb those ones..... with this in mind I opened the bonnet and
all I can see is the radiator!!!! anyone got any hany hints.... why is nothing ever easy????

Mine does, and the bonnet actually goes over 90 degres so there is no need for an extra person to hold it open for you.
There is also the other option of removing the bonnet as this is just four electrical connections to unplug and two nuts to remove (take care not to move the rear nuts or you will have problems lining it up), although this does require two people as the bonnet is a lot heavier that you would think.

having never had the S on ramps does it go up on them with no probs???
I have a couple of bits of wood, about 2 feet long, that I put between the road and the second rung of the ramps, otherwise on mine, the underside of the bonnet scrapes the top of the ramp.
Always always always remember to put the 2 bits of wood back before you drive back off.
I leave them on the seat if I have to remove them while working.tvrgit said:Alternatively, just putting the pieces of wood on the ground and driving onto them will probably give sufficient extra height (depending on the thickness of said wood, of course!), as you don't need much extra to open the bonnet fully.

You should then be able to open the bonnet to 90 degrees and rest it on the bumpers (i.e. indicators!) - before doing this, put something very well padded on the ground - I use an old duvet for this.

depends if you need to get underneath or not - my two bits of wood have 4" square bits of fencepost nailed to one end, for use as mini-ramps in the situation you describe.
