Been for a little drive
Discussion
Well it's been a long winter and not without pain , but today I took a little drive out in the Noble , boy it feels different , new engine with no weight in the flywheel feels very crisp and eager and a new 6 speed gearbox with a M400 shift linkage feels quite frankly incredible if not a little notchy !!!
Thanks to Kevin I also have a new set of M400 seats which feel lovely .
now to get some mileage on the new engine ready for mapping later in the month , celebrating with a large glass of wine . Tux

Gearchange is bloody hard work when cold but frees up nicely when warm and it's very odd having 6 gears :laugh; Tux
TADTS I believe - mine is terrible 2nd to 3rd in the cold.J
Hi Guys , hoping for mapping on the 24th if things go to plan although still waiting for confirmation from Mr Yellowshed , thanks Joust , 1st to 2nd and 3rd to 2nd is poor even double clutching does not help !!!
Bit disappointed to be honest , hoping Dave can tweak something to improve it . Put another 50 miles on the engine today , engine feels good and the new M400 seats are lovely to sit in !!! Tux

Simon, l think the short shift exaggerates the issue as mine has been the same on two different gearbox's, you do get use to it & when up to temp on track & so quick.Bit disappointed to be honest , hoping Dave can tweak something to improve it . Good to hear all running well.
the quicker throw of the linkage means you have less leverage - so its harder to get into gear - but requires less travel to get into gear
(can you use a hole that is further away from the cnetre on the new machined gearbox thingys you got made up)
alternatively you could use a longer gear stick
