Hi all,

Mine failed its MOT last Wednesday on the carbon emissions test.
I have one week to get it sorted. The local garage couldn't sort it and recommended a TVR specialist.
Does anyone know a decent MOT place in Bristol that knows TVR cars?

I know about Forza west, but could do without heading all the way out to Chepstow if I can help it.

Many thanks,
Dave

What was the actual problem though?

Mine failed its MoT because the sensor indicated that the engine was running much (unfeasibly) too weak. It wasn't really, but the original exhaust was full of holes that allowed air into the exhaust gasses, fooling the sensor. The tester told me that he's seeing this more and more, on cars that are young enough to require the emissions test but old enough to have leaky exhausts.

New exhaust cured the problem, expensively.

Get it re-checked before spending lots of money. I had a fail and then asked the guy to test the other exhaust pipe and that passed - funny as they both join together in the middle ? Not sure how these testers work but that is a little alarming.

You could try a Range Rover specialist- TVR dont modify the basic EFI system, (apart from a fuel chip ) so the land Rover test book diagnostics will work and show failed sensors or ECU error codes. Otherwise these guys know their stuff:

Neil Garners did my OSF suspension arm bushes and then did my clutch at a later date - can't fault them!
