Help required for Photoshop

Different request from the usual hers a picture edit it for me for free etc!

The setup is Windows 7 and CS5

I decided to add some smoke brushes to Photoshop so downloaded without drama and after opening photoshop loaded the brushes. All well and good.

Then I started my cockery! I decided to find the folder the presets are held in and from memory they were somewhere in the programme directory structure. As they were hard to find I decided to create a shortcut on the desktop to be able to find them easilty. Only I didn’t… I dragged the whole folder to the desktop. I realised my mistake and decided to put it back only my finger slipped ion the mouse and I’ve dropped the folder somewhere and cant find it. Did I say I am a cock!

PS seems to be OK except in the time I had this morning before work I discovered that in the adjustments, Black and white, area I used to have a (default?) set of different B&W conversions. Now there’s only one so I assume PS cant find the (default) presets.

I have found the user presets and my smoke brushes are there and PS can see them and load them.

So help please to reverse my cockery!

How can I find it?

Can Win 7 find folders? It only seems to find files

What would the file extensions be in the missing folder? Maybe I could look for those?


Or should I just reload PS?

You should be able to search for folders on Windows 7, if not, and if I'm understanding you correctly if you do a search for an ".abr" file that's the extension for the brushes on CS5. The "Presets" folder with the "Brushes" folder inside then lives here:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\

You Sir are my hero. The folder was in the 'legal' folder. All back in the rightful places. Thanks!
