Hi all,

I used to be a gym regular for about 4 years but then took a good year or so off due to becoming busy at evenings/weekends etc.

Consequently I have put on some weight and am looking to lose a few Kg here and there.

I'm now back in the gym twice a week doing cardio and weights (all I can fit in at the moment unfortunately) and I'm starting to feel a bit fitter again, but a big problem for me is eating bad lunches and other crap during Monday to Friday.

Because I'm really busy I usually end up just grabbing stuff like a baguette, sandwich, pasty, or crisps at lunchtimes which really isn't good, plus I'm missing breakfast most days.

I'm quite good at 'night before' preparation, so I thought that maybe if I mixed up a couple of Meal Replacement type shakes and put them in the fridge each night, I could drink them at work for breakfast first thing and then for lunch, this would be far better (and indeed cheaper) than just grabbing lots of butter and calorific-filling laden bread at lunchtimes...

I don't really know what I'm looking at though, I heard a few people use the Maximuscle Promax Diet as a meal replacement shake to help lose some weight and seem to rate it, but in true maximuscle style the price is eye watering!

I know Met Rx is the original meal replacement stuff but I'm not sure if it's 'diet enough' for me?

So any suggestions on products please? Preferably something that can be bought in the packets for convenience (or the bug tubs or whatever) ready to stick in a shaker and mix.

Lower calorie with Vitamins/minerals/fibre wouldn't go amiss seen as how I'm looking to replace meals and not just simply add a more protein to my normal diet like the good old days!

Thanks smile

It's a tough life living on shakes, you get the calories you need, but they don't satisfy hunger on the same way food does.

Chicken/tuna salad might be a nice alternative.

1 x bag of pre washed salad
1 x Tin of tuna or pre-cooked chicken breast

Combine in container. Job done.

This did worry me a bit despite a few of the products claiming to keep you feeling full for longer.

Hurricane XS from Myprotein.com

Go for choc smooth flavour or vanilla.
