Interview Prep.

I've landed an interview for next Tuesday and was wondering how I should prepare for the role. It's for an IT Desktop Support role, entry level. I've already 14 months of experience in such a role so I've plenty to talk about my skills, but I want to know some questions that I should ask them, how I should approach them and what should I look for about the company that could make me stand out? I'm confident on the role, but it doesn't hurt to be overly prepared and not need it.

I always search industry press for the most current and up to date news about the company I can - business wins or whatever (Twitter is useful for this too if they have an unaccount they keep up to date). I think it shows you've done more than just look on their website. Most interviews these days are competency based so be prepared for questions such as - "Tell me a time you had to deliver bad news to a superior and how did you deal with it?"

Probably the best "fiver" you will spend but you must then read it and use it.

Apparently you need to prepare an answer to the 'What dinosaur are you most like?' question.

Thanks for the advice so far chaps. I've actually had a call back from the recruiter saying that the employer wants to move the interview forward to this week so I'm now in on Wednesday. Doesn't look like I've much time to prepare but they seem to offer plenty on their website. Twitter and FB seem quiet, but I'm onto the business balls website now.

Good luck tomorrow! Be on time, be confident but with a sprinkling of humility, smile, keep good eye contact, polish your shoes (make sure socks match shoes (blac/black)) and leave them hoping that they made a good impression upon you because they want you in their organisation!
