Had a test drive in one today and I'm very very impressed!

Was expecting it to be very very slow.. It was actually quite nippy! Got up to motorway speed quick enough.

Handling? Well I didn't take it for a blast around the lanes but the steering was nice and the brakes were sharp.

The driving position van-like and high but very comfortable! Loads of visability.

Its huge inside and really is quite nicely finished for the price and type of car.

The only downside is the looks.. Which I'm kind of avoiding with the XTR which has a different front end and alloys.

Not really sure why I started this thread? More for the archives if people are ever looking at buying one I suppose!

I actually have a question now...

After having a play on the configurator on the Citroen Website today, i came back to it this evening and theres a facelift due out on 2nd of april.

Im placing my order tomorrow and not switching over to it till the end of april/beginning of may. Will i be getting the facelifted one? Or will they try and give me a leftover stock one? Im going to bring it up obviously but just wondering....

I would think it would be the current one. Might be wrong though.

Looks like a nice car. The current is nice- why not aim for big discounts on the current shape? I bet you'd get a thousandsfigure saving so well worth it. I think the likes of the Berlingo keeps its values better when its secondhand as there's always a demand for them from a niche crowd.
Not buying it so discounts arent important, but fresher face of the facelift is something id quite like. Abit more car like with DRL's and nicer grill.

Facelift won't make alot of difference, but if your's isn't in stock it will probably be the new one.
With regard to the vehicle itself it's not a poseur's vehicle,but as a robust,sturdy,roomy workhorse it's brilliant. 10 out of 10.
I've had the old and the new ones,

Yeah its more of a looks thing and the fact ill be living with it for 3years i want it to be a fresh as possible. They do seem very strong and robust which is why ive gone for it.

Do you think if i bring it up tomorrow that i know theres a facelift and i prefer it, the dealer will go out of there way to make sure i get a facelift one?

You'll pay a premium for a facelift that will be ordered in over a current model that is still brand new but in stock, IMO.

Personally I don't like the current Berlingo as it feels more like a car than the first version, but it seems well put together and is one of the most practical cars of its size on the road.
