Heater help. Pipework probs!
Discussion
Found out why my heater didn't seem to work, it wasn't connected to anything!
I've bought what I think is the right sort of connection I just need to know how it connects to the body where the air blows out.

The pipe can't fit through here as can be seen in the second pic but I presume it sits in there somehow?
Can anyone help and tell me how its located in there please?

Have you stuck your finger in that hole?
I seem to recall my Griff had a bit of plastic something like that blocking half the hole. I felt around it the best I could and when I was absolutely, completely and utterly certain it wasn't there for any useful reason I cut it off.
So, have a feel around and report back. Don't cut anything until you, we, your mum and the queen are all certain it serves no useful purpose though.

I didn't need to mastic it in Russell, it was a tight interference fit.
I can get you photos or measurements easily tomorrow if you want them. Its on the ramps at the minute so I can get in the footwell easily.
ETA: That is the nearside wall above the battery in your pictures isn't it?

Here you go Russell MC

This is why you need to stick your finger / camera into that hole before you got anywhere near the plastic with a cutting tool

You can see from this picture how I cut the plastic. I drilled lots of small holes in it first then joined the dots so to speak. I had to do this because the plastic was too hard or awkward to cut with a stanley knife.

I'll save you standing on your head trying to read whats embossed on that last photo Russell

I now remember what this is. Its a 90deg push fit joint for waste pipe - probably from B&Q knowing me.
I've put a small piece of pipe into it to give it something to push into the hole.
And if you look carefully you can see the top end with the corrugated hose is different to the bottom end because I've ripped off the joint end and the seal. I'd have done this to get it all fitting tight and neat. Its a nice tight interference fit now.
If you need anything else just shout.
Have fun
