Hi,

I've got a speedometer with "quartz" screen on my chimaera 400. My battery wasn't OK (CR 2330), so I've had to change it.
However, my total miles value has been reseted at "0".
How can I increment this number to the old value (84000 miles)????

Thank you in advance for your answer

Book plenty of time off over summer and spend your savings on fuel? hehe

Take a photo at zero - stick it in the history file, with a covering note.

A future buyer would understand.

But I am astonished it doesn't exist a solution?
May be put my car on a test bed biggrin

There are 3 wires behind the speedometer. Nobody have an idea by this way??

I don't know either, but these people might be worth a call.

In *THEORY* you could use a signal generator to generate an appropriate frequency input to the speedo to drive it to the appropriate mileage but that would take a fair old time - if you fed in a square wave that corresponded to 100mph then you'd be looking at winding on about 2,500 miles a day or roughly a month for running up 75,000 miles.

I believe that speedycables / ETB instruments can manually set the mileage if you have some sort of proof of valid mileage - so an MOT - but it's not easy to do it yourself because that would make it easy to clock.
