I'm studying innovation and business at the open uni and have decided to research photography stability devices and find out if there is a market gap for my idea.

Could be interesting. By 'external' do you mean outdoors, or simply anything that isn't built into the camera/lens? (I only use a tripod indoors you see)

By external I mean external to the camera, accessories like tripod, monopod, gorillapod, beanbags, etc.

Not Canon IS, Nikon VR, Sony steadyshot, etc.
