Post your question in that thread and someone may be able to help you, try not to mention being a girl as some of them may go all funny.

Best thing to do is relax and dont feel that you constantly have to contribute. You can end up making yourself look thick and annoying.

Honestly, relax and enjoy it. You will meet like minded people who are all in the same boat as you and are looking for a job just like you. The assessors look more at how you interact between tasks than how you contribute.

Self yourself well and you can sell anything

Judging from what you wrote - and the topic of the thread itself, I'm going to assume that you don't have a lot of real sales experience. 'retail' is quite vague so it's hard to judge what you may have gained from that.

Based on this, if you can't show extensive sales experience, you need to show initiative, motivation, a good attitude, willingness to learn, and hunger for sales.

My position required me to train people into a direct sales role, and as a general rule I despised having to deal with anyone who had prior sales experience. Building them up from scratch was much easier, as they didn't bring in bad habits. Given what I was doing was not car sales, and I'm sure that dealerships operate in very different ways, in my opinion the principle still stands. You just need to sell yourself.

TBH I'd not go too overboard with being into cars, a degree of market knowledge is good but at the volume end most dealers are more interested in how you deal with customers than how into cars you are.

Go in, be enthusiastic, willing to listen, and learn, and you'll be fine.

Good luck, and all being well, welcome to the trade.

I love cars and driving them ( fast ones, expensive ones!) unfortunately i don't own a car at the moment as i want something nice, no banger!
Sugardaddy.com?

Seriously - treat it like any other job. Don't bullst about what you know and don't pretend to know about cars if you don't. They will smell your fear. if they want you for your selling skills they will train you on the produc.

Jeez. Toffs? Really? Are you sure you want to work in the car trade?

There are few enough of us females working with anything to do with cars to start getting socialist ones in as well. It's a very work/sucess orientated business and if you equte success with "toff" you might want to have a rethink.

so what you are saying is that you are criminally underprepared for an interview in an industry that you have no experience of other than you like driving the Porsches and Range Rovers of the 'toffs' that are gracious enough to provide you with a living, charming...

You'll be relying on the push up bra then, because as far as i can see, you have nothing else going for you in this industry. you don't even come across well in your writing. best of luck anyway.

Well, hopefully a warm welcome to the motor trade. We have a lady sales exec here, who does rather well. So its not a bad thing. Yes, it is a very male orientated world, but if you can hold your head high, and take some of the filth that rolls round dealerships youll be ok.

Just go in with a confident, but not cocky attitdue, be honest, use your previous retail experience to help in some questions. I have no idea how many people they have a Robin's and Day (sp), but with the Peugeot Franchaise they are looking to get younger, fresh people so that will help.

Look at the background of the company (Peugeot Owned) and the brand plus vehicles, so you have some idea for questionning.

I was being serious, read this thread from the beginning and you will see that from the info you have given us you have nothing going for you in car sales other than your figure, work it like a polaroid picture.

oh yes, if you have any recent pictures of yourself in business attire, (i'm not on about smutty ones) then we may be able to point you in the right direction, presentation wise.
