Australian ultima owners?

Meaty,
My planning is well under way. Carbies are simply not an option in OZ due to emissions regs. I am planning to visit the factory early in the new year to go for a spin in the demonstrators and place my order.
As long as you follow the factories advice, Queensland heat shouldn't be a huge problem.

Hi Doc, Ive seen very few ultimas in Aust and thinking back dont know if they were Sports or gtrs? We have been looking at potentially using LS1 /Gen III engine just because of the conveniance of having easily obtainable backup and the emission problems are less of an issue. If your keen to chat ill send you an email address.
DJ ran a Sports I believe, with a 5.0 L Ford powerplant.
Oh I forgot about the Yellow Spider in Canberra also. Just can't think of the gentlemans name right now...
I'm down in Sydney as is Mr J. Yes, Ive done a LOT of homework on the ADR's (Australian Design Rules) and by far the biggest headache (actually the rest is pretty easy) is Emissions.
We will have no choice but to run LS1's and even then I think we may have a bit of trouble. I thought I read somewhere that the upcoming LS2 is better for emissions, so that may be the way we may need to head.
I think it is time I got back in contact with my Automotive Engineer and see what he thinks of it all.
Gearbox will the same as everyone else here. Apparently the best (cheapest and best quality, low mileage) boxes are coming out of Hong Kong. Plenty of low mileage cars being crashed apparently

g'day,
I have the Spyder in Canberra.
I have been thinking about selling it if you're keen on something to drive now, let me know.
You can look at pictures at SBBT dot COM dot AU.
I have only done about 700kms in it in the last 12months and I figure someone else would do it more justice.
