well as the title says really, is there some glaringly obvious reason to not go down this route? they seem well put together, the diesels are, well diesely and seemingly go forever but are the running cost ruinous? or is there something that MUST be looked for or be sure has been done before committing.

Hard to make call on the price without knowing age and mileage.
Technically they are basically same as contemporary E class.

I know I'm bumping an old thread, but I can honestly say, no. They're pretty well built. I have mine for sale at the moment for £11250 and there isn't a single thing wrong with it. The interior is rattle and creak free, mechanically, it's spot on.

They're definitely worth a punt now that the prices have came down to a sensible level. With a private plate on, most people still think you're driving a £30k motor too.

I sold my 56 plate E320cdi estate with 105k miles on it for a little over £10k and that was perfect, sort of gutted I let it go, no rattles, still solid, and a lovely car. For £10k it is a steal.

Thanks, I don't see the point of listing an ad with minimal info, I like people to see exactly what the car is like, hence the extra photo's and youtube videos.
