So who likes country?

I've developed a rather unhealthy obsession with it lately, partly from becoming bored always playing metal guitar and partly because it's good stuff to sing on Karaoke nights and at partys.

Cheers for the links man. I have a good appreciation of John5 from being a big MM fan in my younger days (that fker can put on a stage show!)

I've been trying to follow his online lessons (chicken picken etc.). It's hard work!

Thanks to my dad visiting Alabama for a job a few years back, they gave him a parting gift of a David Allan Coe CD, with the "X-Rated" songs. Now we're talking at least 6 years ago, as I couldn't drive so remember him putting it on in his then new BMW. Luckily I was at the age of understanding it, as it is piss funny. For an alternative take on things at the birth of country rock try some solo Mike Nesmith stuff. Really rather wonderful and astonishingly tasteful pedal steel guitar work.

I have a serious obsession with country music. Possibly the most uncool thing ever, but frankly I don't care. For me, no other music genre comes close. I need an old pickup truck in my life. Current favourite is Time Is Love by Josh Turner.

Massive Brad Paisley and Toby Keith fan boy here. Seen both live over here, very little comes close to a Brad Paisley show, his one last year at the O2 was almost exactly like the ones in his videos.

Yep. The reason we listen to it is the music is so good. Everything about Johnny flows from the songs.

I'd never heard of him until I passed his entourage in Florida back in 2008, mustve been about 10-15 huge 'big rigs' in convoy.
