Boot won`t shut

I`ve had a quick search but can`t find anything, my boot wont shut on to the catch! i have tryed to press
the release button(badge) and all i get is a faint clicking noise accompanied by the boot light fading on and off slightly also i`m getting a clicking noise from the door ecu under the centre console any ideas anybody

now shuts but it looks like the solenoid is now working again but not activating the release lever? the solinoid going 20 to the dozen so i have diconnected it and found where it is it`s a Ford part number looks like i will be getting into the boot by the "manual" method till i can get it to a dealer, the nearest is an hour drive

Care to share where the soleniod is ? Mine has become intermittant, coming back from PistonFest I got to a garage with 10 litres in the tank only to find that I couldn't open the boot. Went home, fiddled with it a bit and ended up using the mechanical method. Went down to the petrol station with the boot open and filled up before closing it. Not been in there since !

Come to think of it it doesn't like closing when the roof is in the boot either, much happier when the roof is on the car. Could that be related ?
