Kodak Playsport - adequate for me or not?

I'm sure the info's on here, but the legendary PH search function hasn't brought anything up.
We want a camera to capture family moments in decent quality and don't want to overspend. No specail effects, just shots of kids running around etc.
The Playsport's indestructability and low price appeal, but will the quality drive me nuts and make me wish I'd gone with the Panasonic SD90, which seems the best of the sensibly-priced HD camcorders.
All advice gratefully appreciated (I suspect the advice will be buy both, but let's see!)
