Going over on the Thursday night/Friday morning in my Z4MC, and will be there until Monday evening. Staying at the Tiergarten (not been there since my first trip in 2005!), and will be Pistenklaus'ing or Pinochio'ing most evenings!

Easter!!!

Are you mad Andy?

You'll be lucky to average 1 lap an hour.

Good luck though. I won't be there until May.

It's more for the social. Not expecting it to be a great lapping weekend. But fingers crossed the sun will be shining, and I'll get a few goes round.. smile

He'll be lucky to get within 50 yards of the entrance between closures if it is at all like last year. The jams went all the way down to and through Adenau on the Friday too - it is a long way to go to sit in your car or the pub......

I bet on Easter Friday it'll show a solid queue of cars all trying to get into Nrburg for Car Freitag!

Perhaps you needed to get up a bit earlier then. Did 2 days at Easter last year and did 30 laps before lunchtime no problem.

The queues are mainly caused by the people who just want to park in the car parks or come in after every lap.

If you want some quality laps, its perfectly possible, even at easter. You just need to be on track, with a full tank of fuel before the crowds get out of bed.

I wasn't looking to lap (if I was, I'd have been there for the opening of the gate with you) - I had just spent the preceding 2 days doing more than 30 laps on closed track days so was simply still in the area and looking to get around and do stuff, which was impossible. The only people to record more than a couple of laps on the Friday that I encountered were those who got on early and stayed there until they had to leave for fuel. After which - huge queue time. Apparently Saturday was measurably less mental and Sunday actually quite good - especially in the afternoon. But I was homeward bound by then after a particularly successful DN event.

Also, anecdotally and having seen quite a bit of video from last Easter the circuit seemed to be a bit of a log jam for a lot of the time (again - especially Friday) and to be honest, that isn't my idea of enjoyable lapping anyway.
