As with all hings TVR, quoted figures don't always match reality and I've been wondering what weight they actually are. I have read 987kg as the lowest quoted somewhere up to 1180kg somewhere else.

Well just in case anyone might be interested, I put mine on a recently calaberated weigh bridge and it comes out at>>>>>>>

1160kg

With probably 2 gallon of fuel in the tank, so not far off the figure of 1150kg mentioned on TVR wedge pages. [and without the fat bloke in the drivers seathehe]

Oops, I forgot I had that massive tea tray on the back. cool

It's not actually that heavy really, just being single skin fibreglass it looks a lot beefier than it is

Thats an interesting weight 1160kg, i wonder how much lighter the SEAC would be as there is a lot less fiber glass in the boady through the wings front and rear...
Where did you take you car Topton as i would like to have mine checked to see wht its rolling mass is.

I took it to my local scrappy. [mrs tt said how much did they offer for it, cheeky mare] They built a weigh bridge last year as they upgraded to an 'All Vehicle Salvage'. Which means they are a fully recycling centre.
£5 to put it on the bridge with a print out of result

Very interesting Topton , answers my question in another thread , fairly lightweight as far as modern day sports cars go and good to know one of Tvr's figures is accurate !

If you had a full tank this could add the extra 40kg. plus different scales will read slightly differently.

My Tasmin weighed 1100 and a few Kg when tested onm teh council weighbridge over a decade ago - and the S1 Tasmin was supposed to be one of the lightest Wedge versions as it lacked some braces etc. of later cars. Someone (Graham Walden?) told me the lighter shell was one of the reasons the Tas racers preferred the early cars.

I thought the early cars had thicker fibre glass, but that was liked as it made more tank like, esp with all the contact in the early days of the Tasmin challenge.
