Ok so this might sound bizarre to everyone but I'm wondering if it would be possible/easy to install a button on the steering wheel to blip the throttle for down changes?

Reason being that I have no ankle joints so heal/toe is impossible, it might not sound a major problem but more than once I have had the back end trying to break out going into corners because of the mismatch in speed.

Would it be possible to tap into the electronics to do this, or anyone got a different idea?

servo attached to the throttle cable body, actuated when a button is pressed. ...imagine an "increase idle" switch.

there must be a cold air idle temp somewhere you could tap into......but i dont know the rover ecu...

Nissan have a very good system on the 370z called "synchro rev", it perfectly matches revs on a down change. I've used it and it's fool proof - might give you some ideas?

The 370z system will be very pricey to use on a tvr!

Your going to want some thing abit more basic like a solenoid to the throttle body, but it will have its risks to imagine

That's the worry, it has to work right every time or I'm gonna come a cropper.
Maybe biting off more than I can chew.

Ian I think the paddle shift systems for bike engined cars will blip the throttle on the down change perhaps you could utilis one of these

Might be a more elegant solution. The Syvecs management system will do this if you fit fly by wire throttle.

I think such a system is currently being worked on.

I imagine it will be more dynamic than a button as it will read all the parameters at each shift and blip accordingly.

You get this on motorbikes
I have one installed on my R1
It's called an auto-blipper from a company called HPS.
Must be a way of installing them on cars
