given that i dont do many miles or much m/way driving or high speed whats the opinion as to a more budget tyre for the rears on my 996.
my car is used mainly in town so not abused much and ive used different brands over the years and a lot of the co called budget buys are actually made by the big boys.
if i was driving m/ways regular then would pay the xtra
opinions pls

I asked the same for my 986 and many of the replies also seemed relevant from some 996 owners so i had 4 Falken 452's fitted yesterday ....

My experience of Falkens (about 4 sets, although not on my Porsche) is that they are a good tyre but seem to achieve their grip by sacrificing longevity/wear resistance (softer rubber compound perhaps), but that sounds like it wouldn;t be a problem for you from what you've said about low miles.

Yes Falken 452's are not a bad tyre so long as you don't want to lean on them too much which your post suggests you don't.

Uniroyal Rainsport 2's are my tyre of choice. Not sure if they do them in your size though.
